HOUSTON, Texas --
Samantha Bradley Saturday tossed a three-hit complete game shutout of Houston Baptist in the Wildcats' 4-0 win at Husky Field. She also provided a bang at the plate, going 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBI as the Wildcats won the series, two games to one.
ACU jumped out to 1-0 first inning lead on
Calie Burris' two-out double down the left-field line to plate
Val Rudd, and two innings later Bradley helped her own cause with a two-run bomb over the wall in left that pushed the Wildcats' lead to 3-0. Bradley again provided another insurance run in the seventh, driving home
Blakeli Brookreson on a two-out single to right field.
In the circle, Bradley surrendered hits in the first, fourth and sixth innings and a walk in the second. Of those four runners left on base, two made it as far as third base, while another reached second. In all other innings, Bradley retired the side in order.
Bradley today struck out two batters and induced nine ground outs in winning her second game of the weekend. She has three wins on the season and four complete games.
The Wildcats return to action Wednesday for a 6 p.m. game at Tarleton State. ACU defeated the Texans at home earlier this month, 6-4.
