MBB to close out nonconference schedule Wednesday night

ABILENE, Texas - The Wildcats close out their non-conference schedule tomorrow night when they welcome the Longwood Lancers to Teague. ACU is looking for their ninth-straight win and the 21st-straight win at home.

ACU Storylines

  • The Wildcats have a lot on the line Wednesday night as they look to extend their winning streak to a program record nine-straight wins. Should they win, they will also match the best non-conference start in program history.
  • The team is coming off their best offensive output since 2017 in their 112-41 win over Howard Payne. Five different Wildcats scored in double figures. 
  • Ja'Sean Jackson is coming off his best game of his young career with a 15 point, 8 rebound effort over HPU. 
  • Cameron Steele also had a career night with 18 points against the Yellow Jackets. 

Scouting the Lancers

  • Longwood comes into the game with a 7-4 record and has not played since Dec. 14. The team was schedule to play St. Francis Brooklyn but the game was canceled due to COVID issues in the St. Francis program. 
  • The Lancers are led in scoring and rebounding by Isaiah Wilkins who is averaging 12.2 points and 6.2 rebounds per game. 
  • Longwood comes into this game on a three-game winning streak including wins over Delaware State and Morgan State.
  • The team has been a great shooting team on the season shooting 46.4 percent from the field and 37 percent from three-point range.
