EDINBURG, Texas — The Wildcats closed out the regular season on Saturday facing UTRGV on the road. The Vaqueros got out to an early lead in set one and while the Wildcats made a late push in the set, they fell 17-25. The second set featured long runs by both teams with the Wildcats jumping out to an 11-6 lead before UTRGV responded with a run of their own to go up 15-13. It was back and forth the rest of the set with the Vaqueros coming away with win to take the 2-0 lead. UTRGV took that momentum into set three and got the sweep over the Wildcats.
