ABILENE — The Wildcats put up a dominant defensive performance and got key performances from several young players to earn their first WAC win of the season over Lamar. The team came out on fire in set one hitting .625 in the set with 15 kills and no hitting errors. After some adjustments from Lamar in set two, the Wildcats defense picked up their intensity and increased their number of blocks per set in each of the last three sets. The team also had 27 digs in the second set alone. An injury to the setter,
Madison Rohre, had the Wildcats make some adjustments of their own for the third set and after dropping a close set, the team came back and dominated set four to earn the 25-15 win to take the match.

News and Notes
- Emily Van Dyke put up one of her best performances of her young career as she tallied eight kills and a career-high 21 digs.
- Madison Lawler had another solid defensive performance with 22 digs and added two aces on the afternoon.
- Despite leaving the match at the end of set two, Rohre was able to return late in the fourth set and totaled 30 assists over two and half sets played.
- Sarah Nading stepped up in a big way in Rohre's absence tallying 17 assists and four blocks.
- Braden Bossier and Breanna Box each had solid performances in the middle with Bossier notching 12 kills on a team-high .409 hitting percentage and Box with 11 kills on a .308 hitting percentage.
- Bryley Steinhilber notched a career-high with 14 kills to lead the team.
- Several Wildcats hit statistical milestones in the match. Bossier surpassed 100 career blocks, Lawler surpassed 1,600 career digs, and Rohre surpassed 1,600 career assists.
