Wildcats host Tarleton Saturday afternoon

ABILENE - The Wildcats have had the last week off and will look to get back on track when they host Tarleton on Saturday afternoon. The team hosted one of three WAC Pods last weekend and went 0-2 on the weekend against CBU and Dixie State, both matches that went to five sets. With a week to rest and recover they will see Tarleton for the second time in three weeks of action. ACU played at Tarleton on October 16, falling 3-1, and hosted them as part of the WAC Pod last weekend. Now, they get to play them at home hoping to even the season series at 1-1.

ACU STORYLINES

  • ACU has four players ranked within the top 10 in the WAC in different categories: Lindsey Toney kills per set (2, 4.69), Madison Rohre assists per set (1, 10.28), Madison Lawler digs per set (7, 4.40), Breanna Box hitting percentage (5, .335).
  • The team is coming off back-to-back five set matches last weekend against CBU and Dixie State. They were the first back-to-back five set matches for the Wildcats since the opening weekend of the spring season in January. 
  • Toney has had 20-plus kills in each of her last three games, she is the first player in ACU's DI history to have three-straight 20-plus kill outings. 
  • Brea Box has been solid over the last few matches hitting .308 or higher in each of her last four outings. 

SCOUTING THE TEXANS

  • Tarleton had a busy week of competition after going 1-1 in last weekend's WAC pod competition. The Texans hosted UIW on Tuesday, winning 3-0, before traveling to Denton on Thursday night where they fell in straight sets to the Mean Green. 
  • The Texans are 12-12 on the season and 3-4 in WAC play. 
  • Right side Lauren Kersey leads the team in kills with 307 kills, over 120 more than the next Texan. Carmen Kinsey has 184 kills on the season averaging 2.27 kills per set. 
  • Lorin McNeil leads the Texans in blocks with 105 total blocks on the season, averaging 1.19 per set, ranking fifth in the WAC in blocks per set.
