Wildcats head to Stephenville to face the Texans

ABILENE - The Wildcats are coming off of their first WAC win of the season after a 3-1 victory over Lamar last weekend. The team will hope to use that momentum and a week of preparation to earn their first road win of the season. This weekend, ACU will renew an old rivalry with Tarleton as the teams meet for the first time since 2012.

ACU STORYLINES

  • Madison Rohre continues to lead the WAC in assists per set, averaging 10.31 per set.
  • The Wildcats dominated for most of their match against Lamar, including opening the match with a 25-13 win where the team hit .625 in the set with 15 kills. 
  • ACU has five players ranked within the top 10 in the WAC in different categories: Lindsey Toney kills per set (2, 4.45), Madison Rohre assists per set (1, 10.31), Madison Lawler digs per set (5, 4.47), Breanna Box hitting percentage (8, .321), Braden Bossier blocks per set (7, 1.06)
  • Three different Wildcats have reached 100 kills on the season: Jada Birkel, Breanna Box, and Lindsey Toney. Toney leads the way with 184 on the year.
  • This past weekend saw three Wildcats reach new statistical milestones: Braden Bossier surpassed 100 blocks in her young career, Madison Lawler surpassed 1,600 digs, and Madison Rohre surpassed 1,600 assists. 

SCOUTING THE TEXANS

  • Tarleton comes into the match also sitting at 1-3 in WAC competition with their lone win coming against Lamar last weekend. 
  • Right side Lauren Kersey leads the team in kills with 243 on the season on a .302 hitting percentage and middle blocker Elise Smith leads the team in percentage swinging at a .356 clip. 
  • Lorin McNeil leads the team in blocks with 1.06 per set and ranks sixth in the WAC in that category. 
  • The Texans are coming off of a dominant sweep of PVAMU on Thursday where the team won 25-13, 25-15, 25-19.
