ACU WBB adds Midwestern State for Sunday matinee

ABILENE -- The Abilene Christian women's basketball team will play host to its old Lone Star Conference rivals from Midwestern State 1 p.m. Sunday at the Teague Center following McMurry's cancellation of Saturday's originally scheduled contest due to complications with COVID-19 testing protocols.

This is the 61st meeting between the Mustangs (0-1) and Wildcats with ACU leading the all-time series, 38-22. The two schools last played Dec. 16, 2017, with the Wildcats winning, 88-67, on the strength of 16 three-pointers and 30 points from Breanna Wright.

To help curb the spread of COVID-19 in the local community, attendance at this event will be limited to essential personnel and a limited number of players' families and guests. There will be no walk-up or single-game ticket sales.

Fans can watch and follow in-game live stats via links provided on the ACUSports.com schedule tab.

ACU won its season opener Wednesday vs. Howard Payne 99-45, while MSU fell at Sam Houston State, 104-61. The Mustangs were to have played Saturday at UT Arlington, but that game was postponed after a member of the Mavs' Tier 1 personnel tested positive for COVID-19.
