ACU travels to SFA for a top-4 showdown

NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The Wildcats have another tough road test ahead after being on the road all of last week. ACU split their road trip 1-1 last week, going to overtime in both contests. On deck for ACU are the Lumberjacks of SFA, who currently sit atop the Southland Conference standings at 8-1. The teams split the series last season with each team winning at home and the Wildcats will look for their first win in Nacogdoches.

SERIES HISTORY
- SFA leads the all-time series 6-2.
- ACU won the last meeting, 72-58, in Abilene. The Wildcats are 2-2 in Abilene and 0-4 in Nacogdoches.  
- This will be the third-straight season where the teams face off twice in the regular season. This is the first of the two matchups for 2019-20.
- In their last meeting, Damien Daniels score 10 points in 15 minutes of actions with Payten Ricks adding nine points and Trey Lenox scoring seven points.  For the Lumberjacks, they return Kevon Harris and Nathan Bain from last season's starting lineup.

ACU STORYLINES
- In their last two outings, the Wildcats have gone to overtime. They went 1-1 in those contests and are 1-2 overall in overtime games this season.
- Payten Ricks is coming off a 24-point performance at Central Arkansas including three clutch free throws to send the game to overtime and a floater in the lane for the win.   
- ACU still remains the top defense in the conference allowing just 64.3 points per game.
- The Wildcats rank fifth in the Southland and 12th in the nation for steals per game with 9.4.  
- The team is second in the country for turnover margin at plus-6.8.  

SCOUTING SFA
- SFA is 17-3 on the season, including a marquee win over then-No. 1 Duke at Cameron Indoor.  
- The Lumberjacks are leading the conference and ranked second in the country in steals per game averaging 10.9.  
- SFA is shooting just under 50 percent on the season, including shooting 35.7 percent from three-point range.
- Kevon Harris leads SFA and is the second-leading scorer in the Southland averaging 18.3 points per game.
- The team is coming off two road wins. They went to Northwestern State and won 69-62 followed by a win at Lamar, 70-62.
