Mooney Said It
On Toney's career performance leading the the Wildcat offense: "Between sets one and two, I really challenged the team to step up their level of focus and play. Individually, I asked Lindsey to step up offensively. She responded great and did just that. I believe she has the skills and ability to put up big numbers like she did today on regular basis for our team. She worked really hard in the offseason to develop her range and shot selection at the net and we saw that all come together today for her. It was really impressive to watch."
On getting their first win of the season: "More than anything just getting that 'monkey off our backs' is a great feeling going into the next weekend of preseason play. We were able to use a few different lineups and get multiple people in the match today. We are gaining experience with every set and every match we play."
On the chance to host a home tournament this weekend: "We are thrilled to be hosting for the first time since making the transition to D1. When I arrived at ACU, being able to host a preseason tournament was one of my top priorities. Through the support of our administration and a few people in the ACU and Abilene communities that vision is now a reality. Being able to play at home, in Moody is a definite advantage. We are blessed with an exceptional following on the road but being at home in Moody, with our student body and a great crowd, there's nothing like it. Our staff and players are all really looking forward to our first annual Wildcat Classic."
