HUNTSVILLE, Texas – A seven-run second inning proved to be the difference Saturday night in a soggy environment to wrap up a three-game series between ACU and Sam Houston State. The Bearkats would go on to add one in the fourth to win 8-0 in a five-inning, run-rule game.
The game was moved back due to bad weather in the area, and was removed from the ESPN+ telecast, due to the inability to get equipment ready in the rain and wind.
Lindsey McLeod went the distance, shutting out the Wildcats on one hit to propel Sam Houston State to a clinching of a berth in the 2019 Southland Conference Tournament.
Calie Burris lasted 1.1 innings as the starter, and was followed by
Samantha Bradley, who went 2.2 innings.
Katelyn Belch tallied the lone ACU hit Saturday night.
