CONWAY, Ark. – Central Arkansas pulled away from ACU late in the game Saturday as the Sugar Bears took a 5-2 win over ACU, clinching the Southland Conference softball series against the Wildcats at Farris Field.
The teams split the doubleheader Friday before UCA took the win in Saturday's series finale. With the loss, the Wildcats fall to 21-23 overall and 13-11 in the conference, while the Sugar Bears improve to 26-23 and 14-10. ACU is in seventh place in the league standings, 1.5 games ahead of eighth-place Lamar and three games ahead of ninth-place Sam Houston State with three conference games left to play.
The Wildcats will be back in action Tuesday at 6 p.m. at Texas Tech in Lubbock, and then next Friday and Saturday in Nacogdoches against Stephen F. Austin.

Caroline Adair to make it 1-0. But the Sugar Bears answered back with two runs in the third inning and two more in the fourth to take a 4-1 lead. ACU cut the lead to 4-2 in the sixth, but the Sugar Bears tacked on an insurance run in the bottom of the sixth to take the 5-2 win.

Hannah Null started all three games in the series and she took the loss Saturday to fall to 17-13 after pitching four innings and giving up four runs on five hits.
