LUBBOCK – ACU dropped a midweek matchup to Texas Tech Tuesday night as the Lady Raiders beat the Wildcats, 10-1, at Rocky Johnson Field.
With the loss, the Wildcats drop to 21-24, while the Lady Raiders move to 25-24.
Senior shortstop
Peyton Hedrick hit her seventh home run of the season in the first inning to get the Wildcats on the board first. Hedrick blasted a solo shot over the left center field fence before the Lady Raiders exploded for seven runs of their own in the first two innings of the game.
The Wildcats added another run in the fourth when
Brianna Barnhill hit a two-out single, followed by a single from
Katelyn Belch.
Alyson Bishoff drove in Barnhill with an infield single. Texas Tech answered back with two runs in the fifth to end the game via the eight-run rule.
ACU returns to action Friday and Saturday when it finishes the regular season with a crucial three-game set at Stephen F. Austin. The first game of the series is set for 1 p.m. with the series set to finish Saturday starting at noon.
