ABILENE – ACU will try to win its second straight Southland Conference game and improve to 2-1 in league play Wednesday night when it hosts McNeese in the second of three straight home games at Moody Coliseum.

The Wildcats are 1-1 in league play after a 75-72 win over Sam Houston State last Saturday in the first game of a three-game homestand that includes tonight's game and concludes with Saturday afternoon's game against Southeastern Louisiana.

The Wildcats are 9-6 overall and witha win over the Cowboys can join Stephen F. Austin (11-3 overall) and Lamar (10-5 overall) as the only teams in the league with at least 10 wins so far this season.

ACU has three players averaging in double figures on the season, led by sophomore center  Jalone Friday, who is averaging 13.9 points per game, followed by junior forward Jaren Lewis (13.3 ppg) and graduate transfer guard Tevin Foster (13.0 ppg).

Junior point guard Jaylen Franklin posted his first double-double of the season and second of his career last Saturday against the Bearkats as he finished with 11 points and 10 rebounds to go along with a game-high seven assists.

After two conference games, McNeese is the only team in the Southland Conference to head into week nine of competition with a three-game win streak under its belt, and remains only one of three teams in the league to maintain a clean home slate.

Newcomer Quatarrius Wilson posted an average 10 rebounds and 14.5 points over the two-game spread. Wilson scored a career high 20 points versus Incarnate Word in his fourth double-double of the season. Wilson is a part of a squad that has ranked McNeese at the top of the SLC in rebounding offense, averaging 41.5 rebounds per game. An impressive improvement of 7.8 more rebounds per game than the 2016-17 season.
