QUICK HITTERS ABOUT WEDNESDAY NIGHT'S GAME
• The Wildcats are still in search of the program's first post-season tournament berth since the 2007-08 team reached the Lone Star Conference Post-Season Tournament semifinals. If the Wildcats can win their final two games and get to 15 wins, they would almost assure themselves of a bid to either the CBI or CIT tournaments. It would also push the Wildcats to 9-9 in conference play, one game better than last year's 8-10 conference mark.
• ACU has lost seven straight games to Incarnate Word and has not beaten the Cardinals since both programs began transition to NCAA Division I affiliation in 2013-14. The last time the Wildcats beat Incarnate Word was an 82-68 win on Feb. 27, 2013, in the two teams' final matchup as Division II teams in San Antonio. The last time ACU beat Incarnate Word in Abilene was a 93-76 win on Jan. 15, 2013.
OTHER NOTES
• Tonight's matchup between ACU and Incarnate Word features a severe contrast in styles on both ends of the floor. ACU is 13th (last) in the Southland Conference in scoring offense at just 69.0 points per game, while UIW is third in scoring offense (76.3 ppg). ACU, meanwhile, is fourth in the league in scoring defense (70.5 ppg), while UIW is 12th in the league in scoring defense (80.1 ppg).
• The game also features the top two 3-point shooting teams in the league as UIW enters the game ranked No. 1 in the league in 3-point field goal percentage (38.3 percent) with ACU right on the Cardinals' heals, checking in at second in the league at 38.0 percent.
• Sophomore forward
Hayden Farquhar has come out of nowhere to lead the league in 3-point field goal percentage (31 for 67, 46.3 percent), eclipsing Central Arkansas junior guard Jordan Howard, who is second at 46.0 percent.
• The Wildcats have two other players in the league's top five in 3-point field goal percentage: redshirt freshman center
Jalone Friday (third at 45.6 percent) and junior guard
Drake Green (fifth at 43.4 percent).
• Green, in fact, is one 3-point attempt from qualifying for ACU's single-season 3-point field goal percentage Top 10. His percentage of 43.4 (43 of 99) would rank seventh in ACU single-season history.
