Wildcats return to the court in North Carolina

BUIES CREEK, N.C. – The ACU Wildcats are back in action this weekend as they take part in the Creek Classic, along with teams from the Mid-American, Atlantic Sun and Big South conferences.

Campbell University of the Big South is the tournament host and ACU's first opponent in a  game scheduled for 2 p.m. (1 p.m. CST) on Friday at Gore Arena. That game will be followed at 5 p.m. when Bowling Green of the Mid-American Conference takes on South Carolina-Upstate from the Atlantic Sun Conference.

ACU will also play USC-Upsate at 5 p.m. (4 p.m. CST) Friday and will play Bowling Green on Sunday at 1 p.m. (12 p.m. CST). All three ACU games can be heard locally on 98.1 FM, and all three will be available on the Big South Network (http://www.bigsouthsports.com/watch/?Live=1437).

ACU enters the tournament at 2-2 on the season after dropping a 75-67 decision Monday night at home to Lipscomb. The Wildcats and Bisons will complete the same-season home-and-home series on Sunday, Dec. 17, with a game in Nashville, Tenn.

Graduate senior transfer guard Tevin Foster leads four Wildcats who are averaging in double-figure scoring through four games as he's scoring 16.8 points per game. Sophomore center Jalone Friday is averaging 15.8 ppg, while forward Jaren Lewis is averaging 14.5 ppg and point guard Jaylen Franklin is averaging 11.5 ppg.
