ABILENE – The Abilene Christian men's and women's tennis teams Wednesday were named All-Academic by the
Intercollegiate Tennis Association in recognition of their excellent classroom marks earned during the 2015-16 school year.
The ITA All-Academic Team award is open to any ITA program that has a cumulative team grade point average of 3.20 or above (on a 4.00 scale).
ACU women's tennis finished the academic calendar with a 3.52 GPA, completing its fall 2015 term with a 3.46 GPA and recording the highest team GPA of all ACU spring sports with a 3.58.
Men's tennis also exceeded in its classes even though a majority of its schedule was played off campus. The Wildcats posted a GPA of 3.27 in fall and 3.43 in spring (3.35 overall).
Eight individual Wildcats were additionally tabbed as ITA Scholar-Athletes for recording a GPA of at least 3.50. Senior

Hunter Holman,
Cole Lawson and Joshua Sheehy represented the men's team, while the women's side claimed junior
Ansley Boarman, sophomore
Andrea Crook, freshman
Jordan Henry and senior
Kaysie Hermsdorf.
Earlier this year 19 tennis players earned a spot on the Southland Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll, and at the conclusion of the regular season, conference all-academic awards went to Hermsdorf and sophomore
Henry Adams,
Lucile Pothier and
Paul Domanski.
Additional Southland Conference schools tabbed to the ITA's All-Academic list were Central Arkansas (women), Lamar (men), New Orleans (men and women), Northwestern State (women), Stephen F. Austin (women) and Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi (men and women).
