ABILENE
– Abilene Christian volleyball takes a short break from tournament play Tuesday night with a single-match at UT Arlington's College Park Center, which starts at 6:30 p.m. Live stats and video are offered through UTAMavs.com.

This is third-straight meeting between the schools since ACU jumped to NCAA Division I in 2013. UTA won the first match at home, 3-2, in 2013, and swept the Wildcats during last year's contest at Moody Coliseum.

ACU (0-6) was winless in College Station this past weekend where it faced three top-notch opponents in Wichita State, New Mexico State and the host Aggies. The Wildcats were swept by the Shockers and New Mexico State, but pushed A&M to a fourth set in Saturday night's finale thanks to exciting comeback in game three in which they rallied from a 24-20 deficit to win 28-26.

The team posted a .164 attacking percentage in its three matches at Reed Arena while averaging 10.70 kills per set, and defensively it blocked 20.0 shots and dug out an average of 13.9 attacks.

Senior setter Sarah Siemens was awarded for her all-around play with a spot on the Texas A&M Invitational All-Tournament Team. In 10 sets the Bakersfield, Calif., native assisted on 78 kills, and provided 29 digs and five blocks. She also hit a team-best .344 behind 12 kills on 32 attempts.

The Mavs are off to a fine 5-2 start, which includes a 3-1 mark at their home arena. UTA won three-of-four matches at home to begin the year vs. Campbell, Grambling State and North Texas, and last weekend scored two victories over Villanova and Air Force at the Pioneer Invitational in Denver.

UT Arlington was predicted to finish fifth in the 2015 Sun Belt Coaches' Poll and had outside hitter Qiana Canete chosen to the Preseason All-Sun Belt Team. Canete led UT Arlington with 376 kills in 2014 and notched a second-best 480 digs as the Mavericks' only six-rotation player.
