Air Force Women's Live Stats |
Men's Live StatsABILENE - Abilene Christian's men's and women's tennis teams are braving wintry conditions on their way to Colorado Springs for this weekend's matches against the Air Force Falcons and Redhawks of Seattle University.
A cold front stretching from Colorado to Ohio has the Wildcats driving through snow for large portions of their 10-hour drive from the Big Country to the Air Force Academy, where the high this weekend is a frigid 27 degrees.
Once there, the ACU men are scheduled to play the Falcons at 5 p.m. (CT) on Friday inside Cadet Gym and Seattle Saturday at 5 p.m. The ACU women, meanwhile, will face Air Force at 11 a.m. Saturday and Seattle at 7 a.m. Sunday.
ACU's matches vs. the Falcons will have live stats.
The Air Force men enter this weekend at 5-2 and are on a two-match winning streak with victories coming over Citadel and Northern Arizona. Seattle, however, is 1-5 and in the midst of a four-match losing streak; its only win a 5-2 decision over Eastern Washington on Jan. 11.
The Air Force women are coming off a 7-0 victory that lifted their record to an impressive 9-3. Earlier this month the Falcons knocked off No. 66 Kansas State, 4-3.
Seattle has lost its last four to fall to 3-7 on the spring, with victories coming against Lewis & Clark State, Montana State and Eastern Washington.
Both ACU squads lost a match to weather last weekend. The women (3-0) had their dual at Texas A&M postponed to April 1, while the men's team (2-7) had to cancel a date with Prairie View A&M after playing a shortened match vs. Rice (L, 0-6).
The Wildcats' women's team hasn't played a dual in more than two weeks with their most recent victory a 4-1 triumph at home against Southland Conference rival New Orleans.
