HAMMOND, La. – The ACU Wildcats will try to put an end to their longest losing streak since the 2006-07 season Saturday evening when they take on the Lions of Southeastern Louisiana in a game that will be broadcast on ESPN3.
Tipoff from the University Center is set for 7 p.m. The game can be heard on 98.1 FM and will be seen online on ESPN3. ACU is 9-16 overall and 3-9 in the Southland Conference, while Southeastern is 8-17 and 5-7. The Lions beat ACU, 65-52, on Feb. 7 at Moody Coliseum in Abilene.
The Wildcats enter Saturday night's game riding a nine-game losing streak that dates back to a Jan. 17 home loss to Stephen F. Austin. The Wildcats' last before the current streak was a 95-81 road win over Northwestern State in Natchitoches, La., on Jan. 13.
ACU is led in scoring by four players scoring in double figures:
Harrison Hawkins (13.5 points per game),
Parker Wentz (11.7 ppg),
LaDarrien Williams (10.5 ppg), and
Austin Cooke (10.2 ppg). The Wildcats lead the Southland Conference in 3-point field goal shooting at 39.3 percent (203 of 517).
The Lions are led by three players scoring in double figures: Zay Jackson (15.1 ppg), Joshua Filmore (12.2 ppg), and DeVonte Upson (10.4 ppg).
