ABILENE – The start of spring football practice at Abilene Christian University has been pushed back one day because of winter-like weather that once again invaded Abilene.
The Wildcats were set to start their third spring under head coach
Ken Collums on Wednesday, but with the forecast calling for temperatures in the 30s and a chance of sleet, Collums has decided to move the start of practice to Thursday. So, the Wildcats will practice Thursday and Friday at 4 p.m. each day and at 10 a.m. Saturday at the
Wally Bullington Practice Facility on the ACU campus.
ACU will spread out 15 practices over a 33-day period in preparation for the 2014 season, which kicks off Wednesday, Aug. 27, at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Ga., when the Wildcats take on the Panthers of Georgia State. Spring drills are set to end on April 5.
