LUBBOCK – Texas Tech's Breeann David and Aubree Piper smothered the ACU Wildcats on Tuesday night as the Lady Raiders knocked off ACU, 3-0, in a non-conference volleyball match at the United Spirit Arena.
The Lady Raiders (4-1) beat ACU, 25-17, 25-17, 25-19, as the Wildcats (2-2) were swept for the first time this season. Tuesday night's match was the first between ACU and Texas Tech since 1983 and the Lady Raiders improved to 28-1 overall against ACU, including 15-1 in Lubbock.
Texas Tech will be in Abilene next Tuesday at 6 p.m. when the Wildcats host the Lady Raiders at Moody Coliseum.
David led all players with 17 kills while Piper added 12 of her own as the Lady Raiders opened their home schedule with the sweep of ACU. The Lady Raider defense recorded 10 blocks and held the Wildcats to an .080 hitting percentage as ACU recorded 33 kills and 24 errors in the three sets.

Corrie Reeder led the Wildcats with eight kills apiece and
Lexi Mercier added five kills. Setter
Sarah Siemens had 23 assists to go along with a team-high 13 digs and four kills, while libero
Madison Hoover had 10 digs in the match.
Trailing 2-0, the Wildcats opened the third set by scoring the first four points, thanks to back-to-back kills by
Neely Borger. ACU led as late as 9-8 in the set before the Lady Raiders took the lead at 10-9 and began to pull away.
