Gameday
NORMAL, Ill. – The ACU Wildcats will be on the road for the first time this season when they take on Illinois State in Normal, Ill.
Kickoff is set for 6 p.m., and the game can be heard locally on KTLT 98.1 FM. The game will also be streamed online on both ACU's StretchInternet feed as well as on the 98.1 FM Web site.
Saturday night's contest will mark the re-opening of the Redbirds' Hancock Stadium, which opened in 1963, but has been undergoing an extensive
renovation project since 2011.
The Wildcats carry one of the nation's top offensive units into the game as ACU is averaging 65.3 points and 562.3 yards per game through three weeks. If ACU's statistics counted in the NCAA's weekly FCS?statistics this year, the Wildcats would rank No. 1 in scoring offense and No. 3 in total offense.
For teams that have played at least three games, the Wildcats lead all of college football in points scored (196), touchdowns scored (27) and points per game (65.3). In fact, in its 91st season of football, ACU?has scored more points through three games in 2013 than 46 teams in ACU?history scored in an entire season.
The Redbirds – ranked in the nation's top 25 before the season started – are an NCAA?Division I?FCS?opponent out of the Missouri Valley Conference. Illinois State is 0-2 this season after losing to Ball State (51-28 on Aug. 29) and arch-rival Eastern Illinois, 57-24, last Saturday in Charleston, Ill.
