No. 3 Women’s Tennis Earns 6-3 Win Over No. 28 Fresno Pacific

LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Abilene Christian's third-ranked women's tennis team scored its first win at the Las Vegas Classic Wednesday afternoon after doubling up No. 28 Fresno Pacific, 6-3, at the Darling Tennis Center.
 
ACU (12-4) bested the Sunbirds (11-5) at No. 2 and 3 doubles before winning four of six singles matches. No. 5 Julia Mongin won her fourth-straight match at No. 1, defeating No. 16 Marie Boura, 6-3, 6-2. And in the bottom half of their order, the Wildcats received straight-set victories from Kaysie Hermsdorf at No. 4, Emily Conrad at No. 5 and Jamie Lee Denton at No. 6.
 
Conrad and Denton remain unbeaten this season with a combined singles mark of 15-0, while Kaysie Hermsdorf improved to 8-2.
 
Denton and Kaysie Hermsdorf were 8-0 winners in their debut together at No. 3 doubles, and at No. 2, the all-America duo of Micah Hermsdorf and Hannah Kelly topped Katarena Paliivets and Erika Januskova, 8-2. Kelley and Micah Hermsdorf are off to a 5-2 start this spring.
 
The Wildcats are in action Thursday morning vs. the top-ranked defending national champions from Armstrong Atlantic.
