Rachel Riley delivered 18 kills and hit .607 to lead Abilene Christian Volleyball to a 3-0 sweep of Southeastern Oklahoma Saturday night at St. Mary's Bill Greehey Arena for the St. Mary's / Hilltopper Classic in San Antonio.
ACU won its three games by scores of 25-12, 25-15, 25-22.
Riley finished with 20 points, which also included a pair of block assists, and the team as a whole hit .322 for the match. Freshmen
Corrie Reeder and Jennie Loerch combined for 16 kills, while classmate
Sarah Siemens posted a double-double of 42 assists and 14 digs.
Junior Madelyn Robinette also collected three service aces as the Wildcats left the hill country tournament with a 2-2 record. Southeastern Oklahoma, however, heads into next weekend winless at 0-4.
Earlier Saturday, Colorado State-Pueblo edged the Wildcats, 3-2, by scores of 21-25, 25-22, 25-15, 20-25 and 15-10.
Sara Oxford led the ACU offense with 16 kills. Siemens tossed up 49 assists on top of hammering four service aces, while newcomer
Madison Hoover was credited with 21 digs.
Pueblo had three players with 12 or more kills and combined to block 16 shots to ACU's 10. The Thunderwolves also played error free ball during their third-set, 25-15, win.
ACU remains on the road next weekend in Denver for the Colorado Premier Challenge. Opponents include #2 Tampa and #25 Colorado School of Mines.
