ABILENE – Three ACU starters scored in double figures as the Wildcats cruised to an 96-57 win over out-manned Arlington Baptist College in a non-conference men's basketball game Saturday afternoon at Moody Coliseum.
The win pushes the Wildcats to 10-10 on the season, eclipsing their win total of last season. ACU will be back in action Tuesday night when it hosts Midwestern State at 7:30 p.m. in an important Lone Star Conference game at Moody Coliseum.
Point guard
Antonio Bell had a game-high 20 points in the contest, burying 7 of 8 shots from the field, including 4 of 5 from 3-point range.
Eric Kibi added 16 points and nine rebounds, while
Zach Williams had 14 points.
ACU shot a season-best 63.8 percent from the floor, hitting 37 of 58 shots from the floor, including 12 of 22 from 3-point range.
The Wildcats led 28-19 with 8:47 left in the first half, but finished the half on a 26-6 run to take a commanding 54-25 lead into the break. ACU then put it on cruise control in the second half, pushing the lead to as many as 42 points as the reserves saw the majority of the second-half playing time.
