ACU Falls To ASU 90-74

ABILENE – Richard Thomas scored 29 points for Angelo State as they knocked off ACU, 90-74 Monday night in Lone Star Conference South Division action at Moody Coliseum.
ACU took 26 more shots than ASU on the night, but the Rams hit 11 three pointers and shot 58 percent from the field to avenge Saturday nights' loss in San Angelo. The loss dropped the Wildcats to 9-11 on the season and 1-7 in LSC play while the Rams are also 9-11 on the season and 5-3 in the LSC.
After taking a four point lead into half time Angelo State was able to hold off two feverish runs by ACU as they cut the Rams' lead to 10 twice. The second run came at the three minute mark after the Rams had pulled away by as many as 19 points.
The Wildcats forced 28 steals as their full court press again caused havoc for the Rams. However it was the hot shooting Rams' who pulled out victory shooting 60 percent from the field in the second half and nearly that overall.

Dosh Simms also scored 13 points for the Wildcats.
Angelo State had four players in double figures including Thomas who led all scorers with 29. Joey Lenox was 6 of 8 from behind the three point arc to add 18 points.
