Wildcats Fall At West Texas

CANYON, Texas - The Abilene Christian volleyball team suffered its toughest loss of the season Thursday night, dropping a 3-0 match at #12 West Texas A&M by scores of 25-11, 25-5 and 25-16.

The loss snapped a three-match winning streak for the Wildcats, lowering their overall and Lone Star Conference records to 16-12 and 10-6, while the Lady Buffs improved to 26-2 and 16-1.

West Texas A&M, in celebrating Senior Night at The Box, produced a .429 hitting percentage as three of their players, led by Ashley Davis, recorded 10 or more kills. The Lady Buffs defense, meanwhile, dug out 47 balls and blocked nine shots in holding ACU to a negative hitting percentage of -.030.

Neely Borger led the Wildcats with six kills and played a role on three of their four blocks.

ACU returns to action Saturday at 2 p.m. (CT) at Eastern New Mexico.
