SAN ANGELO, Texas - Abilene Christian volleyball's three-match winning streak came to an end Tuesday at Angelo State after dropping a hard-fought five-set decision to the #17 Rambelles.
The regional and Lone Star Conference rivals exchanged set victories throughout the match with Angelo State ultimately coming out on top: 25-22, 22-25, 25-12, 24-26 and 15-13. ACU led the final set 13-11 only to see the Belles rally for four straight points. The rematch between the two schools will take place at Moody Coliseum on Nov. 1.
The win keeps the Rambelles (23-2) a half-game behind West Texas A&M for first place in the conference standings, while the Wildcats (13-11) fell into a tie for fourth place at 7-5 with Tarleton State.
The Wildcats return to action Thursday for the start of a three-match, five-day homestand that features A&M-Commerce (7 p.m.), Texas Woman's (Saturday at 2 p.m.) and Tarleton State (next Tuesday at 7 p.m.).
