STORY LINES

LAST TIME OUT
ACU: The ACU Wildcats improved to 3-0 on the season for the fourth time in head coach Chris Thomsen's six seasons last Saturday with a 47-7 win over East Central.  Sophomore quarterback Mitchell Gale threw a career-best five touchdowns – all in the first half – and running back Darrell Cantu-Harkless had 163 all-purpose yards and two touchdwon receptions to lead the offense.  Defensively, the Wildcats gave up just 131 yards of offense, including minus-12 rushing yards.  ACU held the hapless Tigers to a measly 39 yards on their final 52 plays of the game.
Tarleton State: The Texans saw their losing streak stretch to four straight games dating back to the end of the 2009 season.  Tarleton State is 0-3 overall this season and 0-2 in the LSC after last week's 17-14 loss at NCAA Division I-FCS Northwestern State (La.).  The Texans have endured a season's worth of injuries in the first three weeks of the season, including one to starting quarterback Nick Stephens (Tennessee transfer) that has kept him out of the last two games and is expected to keep him out of Saturday's game in Abilene.

UP NEXT
After Saturday's game, the Wildcats will hit the road again for a key Lone Star Conference South Division game at Texas A&M-Kingsville.  Kickoff from Javelina Stadium is set for 7 p.m. as the Wildcats try to win for the seventh straight time against the Javelinas.
