
Carpenter wins Mickelson Award

NOBLESVILLE, Ind. – ACU freshman Alex Carpenter has been named the recipient of the Phil Mickelson Award presented by the Phil and Amy Mickelson Foundation as the most outstanding freshman in NCAA Division II men's golf.
Carpenter won or shared medalist honors four times during his freshman campaign. He won outright at The Territory Classic and the UST Texas Intercollegiate while sharing the top spot at the Red River Intercollegiate and the Lone Star Championships. Carpenter also placed third at the DBU Patriot Invitational and was tied-for-ninth at the Bruce Williams Memorial Invitational. He posted three other top 20 showings and only finished outside of the top 20 twice.
Dylan Jackson of CSU-Monterey Bay, Lander's Davis Lee, Jacob Murphy of Coker and West Florida's Blake Olson joined Carpenter on the all-Freshmen Team.
