DALLAS – Another sweep after the Wildcats finish a perfect 4-0 at the Dallas Baptist Lady Patriot Invitational. ACU (9-3) took consecutive 3-0 matches against Southern Arkansas and host Dallas Baptist Saturday at the Berg Center.
The Wildcats used another double-double from setter Ijeoma Moronu who had 20 assists and 12 digs against the Lady Muleriders. Junior Shawna Hines had another solid tournament where she recorded nine total blocks on the weekend. ACU used a solid second set where they had attacking percentage of .303 before finishing Southern Arkansas 3-0.
In the night cap the Wildcats were able to again capitalized on a solid second set with a .476 attacking percentage. Senior Michelle Bacon had a big night against the Lady Patriots tallying 18 kills against the host team. Moronu was also able to add another 39 assists as the Wildcats won 25-23, 25-15, 25-20.
Abilene Christian will open conference play against three time defending champ West Texas A&M in Canyon. The match is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start on Thursday at The Box.
