Mwamba fourth at Stampede
ACU junior leads ACU to 10th-place team finish
JOPLIN, Mo. -- ACU's Adeh Mwamba and Olha Kryv'yak each finished in the top 15 Saturday to lead the Wildcats to a 10th-place team finish at the Missouri Southern State University Stampede cross country meet.
Mwamba finished fourth and Kryv'yak 12th to lead the Wildcats, who entered the meet ranked 23rd in the nation. Oklahoma won the team title with 78 points, followed by Arkansas with 79 and Southern Missouri State with 119. ACU was 10th with 248 points.
Mwamba -- who last week won the women's individual title at the ACU Cross Country Classic -- covered the 5,000-meter course in 16:55.57 to finish fourth. Kryv'yak, who was second last week to Mwamba, was 12th in 17:54.00. ACU's next-best finisher was Trina Cox, who was 23rd in 18:25.10.
The Wildcats will return to action on Saturday, Oct. 2, when both the men's and women's teams compete at the Oklahoma State Cowboy Jamboree in Stillwater, Okla.
