Expected to see playing time after a solid high school career; in 2007, Golden sat out with an injury and was awarded a medical redshirt.

High School:
Golden led the Lady Eagles of Abilene High School to three straight Class 5A playoff appearances (2004-06), and also helped Abilene High reach the Region I-5A Tournament in 2005. In two of Golden’s three seasons at AHS, the Lady Eagles were knocked out of the playoffs by the eventual Class 5A state champion (Arlington Martin in 2005 and Amarillo High in 2006). Golden was a two-time first team all-District 3-5A selection (2005 and 2006) after earning honorable mention all-district honors in 2004. Golden finished the 2006 season with 228 kills and 51 service aces. She was an academic all-district selection from 2004-06 and a Texas Girls Coaches’ Association academic all-state selection in 2006-07. Golden ranked No. 23 in the AHS graduating class of 2007.

Personal:
Her father, Greg Golden, played baseball at Hardin-Simmons University and currently works at ACU as a graphic designer. Her grandfather, Jim Golden, was a major league pitcher for the Los Angeles Dodgers and Houston Colt 45s in the 1960s. 2007 graduate of Abilene High School. Born 01 Jan 1989.
