Biography

Returns for her junior season after dominating the paint for the Wildcats last year. Maxwell will start at center for ACU. 2006-07 (Sophomore): Was voted a first team all-LSC South Division and second team Daktronics all-South Central Region selection after averaging a double-double for the Wildcats. Started all 29 games for ACU, finishing second on the team in scoring (behind only Guiton's 15.1 average) with a 13.5 points-per-game average. Maxwell led the Wildcats in rebounding with a 10.1 per-game average. Maxwell led the LSC_in total rebounds with 294, and was second in the LSC_in per-game average (10.1 rpg). Maxwell had at least 15 rebounds in six games, and had a career-high 21 rebounds against Texas Woman's on Jan. 24. Also led ACU in free throws made (109) and blocked shots (30). Maxwell had seven 20-point games, including a career-best 26 points in a 100-91 overtime loss at Central Oklahoma on Dec. 9. She turned in a dominating double-double against West Texas A&M on Feb. 17 with 20 points and 20 rebounds. Three times during the season she was perfect from the free throw line in a game, including a career-best 9 for 9 effort in a win over Eastern New Mexico on Jan. 18. 2005-06 (Freshman): Appeared in 24 games, including five starts. Averaged 5.2 points and 3.9 rebounds a game. Led the Wildcats in scoring and scored a career-high 15 points in a home win over Central Oklahoma on Dec. 8. Grabbed a career-high nine rebounds in a home loss to Tarleton State on Jan. 31. High school: A three-time first team all-District 3-5A selection at Abilene HS, Maxwell led the Lady Eagles to the state playoffs as a senior, the program's first playoff appearance since the 2001-02 season. AHS reached the area round of the playoffs before falling to state-ranked Lubbock Coronado. Abilene High's bi-district win, though, was only the second post-season victory in school history. As a senior in 2004-05, Maxwell averaged 14 points and 10 rebounds per game to lead AHS_to an 18-13 overall record and runner-up district finish with an 8-4 mark. She was also an all-region selection, academic all-state selection, Texas Girls' Coaches' Association all-star, team MVP and was named to the Abilene Reporter-News' all-Big Country team. As a junior she averaged 10 points and five rebounds per game to earn first team all-district honors, as well as all-Big Country honors from the Abilene Reporter-News. As a sophomore in 2002-03, Maxwell averaged 10.9 points, 10.1 rebounds and 3.2 steals per game to earn first team all-district and Reporter-News all-Big Country team honors. Personal: Her father, Jack Maxwell, is professor and the chair of the ACU art and design department. His sculpture, "Jacob's Dream," a tribute to the record $26.5 million gift to ACU by the late Grace L. Woodard, was completed for the ACU_Centennial celebration in September 2006 and is now a featured attraction on the ACU_campus. 2005 graduate of Abilene High School where she played for head coach Pat Mouser.
