2011 Track and Field (senior): His victory in the 5000 (14:37.08) gave ACU an insurmountable 11-point lead, 49-38, over Lincoln at the NCAA Division II indoor meet in Albuquerque March 12 with one event remaining. Earlier in the day Sang, a member of ACU’s “fab four,” was runner-up in the mile (4:08.96) to score 18 points in ACU’s 49-42 victory over 22-member Ashland.
2010 Cross Country (senior): Lone Star Conference and NCAA Division II south central region champion. He ran 8k in 23:49.50 to win the league title in Abilene and 30:42.96 for 10k at the regional meet in Warrensburg as the Wildcats finished runner-up to advance to the national meet. Wildcats also repeated as LSC champions, giving them the title for the 20th consecutive year. Sang ran 31:10.5 for ninth at the NCAA national meet in Louisville, Ky., as the Wildcats finished 15th in the team standings. He was named LSC runner of the year and NCAA Division II south central region runner of the year. His other top times included 18:18.5 for 6k at Baylor (first place) and 20:09.74 for 4 miles at Central Missouri (first place). He lost only at Oklahoma State (fourth) and NCAA national meet.
2010 Track and Field (junior): Turned in remarkable season by going undefeated in league and NCAA races. Won four races in less than 24 hours at LSC meet May 8-9 in San Angelo to pace Wildcats to 10-point victory for 17th consecutive conference title. Won 800 in 1:54.39, 1500 in 3:58.24, and 5000 in 15:01.10 May 9 and 10,000 in 30:26.53 May 8. Named the league’s outstanding performer in men’s track events. Continued fine season in Charlotte, N.C., with wins in the 5k (14:04.94 as the favorite) and 10k (30:04.98 for upset victory) at the NCAA Division II national outdoor meet after winning regional track athlete of the year honors from coaches association. Top times also included 1:54.23 in 800 at Texas-Arlington (third), 13:50.77 in the 5k at Mt. SAC (ninth), and 29:15.58 in the 10k at Texas Tech (second/converted time). Won 8 of 11 outdoor races (only loss were 800 at Texas-Arlington, 5k at Mt. SAC Relays and 10k at Texas Tech). Also won 1500 at Texas-Arlington and 5k at Oliver Jackson Classic. Also had impressive indoor season with best times of 4:11.21 in mile (Lubbock) and 14:18.08 (runner-up at New Balance in NYC). Third in NCAA Division II indoor 5k and 10th in mile in Albuquerque. Won 5k and finished runner-up in mile at Nebraska.
2009 Cross Country (junior): Double winner in 2009 cross country at LSC and NCAA regional meet in individual competition with 24:44 for 8k in Canyon and 29:53 for 10k in Abilene. Team repeated as LSC champ and finished 10th at regional. Only Wildcat at national meet in Evansville, Ind., with 30:48 for 10k for fourth.
2009 Track and Field (sophomore): Indoors ran 14:20.46 for fifth at NCAA meet in Houston in 5k. Also ran 4:24.49 for mile at Tech. LSC runner-up at 10k moving outdoors (32:26.05) after win at Penn Relays in 29:34.21. Also third at NCAA national meet in 29:54.20 in San Angelo. Ran best of 13:57.76 for fifth at Mt. SAC in 5k and placed sixth at NCAA national meet in 14:27.32. Third in LSC 1500 in 3:59.14 with best of 3:55.53 for win at Baylor.
2008 Cross Country (sophomore): Member of team that repeated as champs of LSC and NCAA south central region and finished fourth at NCAA Division II national meet. Top times included 19:29 for four miles (Abilene), 25:19 for 8k at Stillwater, and 30:17 for 10k at Chile Pepper in Fayetteville. Missed some competition because of injuries. Finished 21st at NCAA south central region in San Antonio.
2008 Track and Field (freshman): Indoor times included 14:40.71 for 5k for win at Tyson in Fayetteville. Moved outdoors to run 3:55.27 for fifth in LSC 1500, 8:40.44 in 3000m, 14:27.11 for seventh at NCAA outdoor meet in 5k, 14:27.57 for fifth at Texas Relays in 5k, and 29:33.31 for fifth in 10k at NCAA Division II national meet. Also in 10k was runner-up at LSC meet and eighth at Penn Relays.
2007 Cross Country (freshman): Team won LSC and NCAA Division II championships and placed second at regional with Sang among the Wildcats’ top five in his first season of competition for the Wildcats. Placed third at the conference meet in 24:50.04 for 8k. Also in 10k races finished 11th at regional in 31:37.4 and 30th at national in 31:18.8.
High School: Came to ACU with top times of 8:50 in 3k, 9:00 in steeplechase, 14:44 in 5k and 31:58 in 10k. Zone champion in cross country in 2003-05.
