Biography

Should battle for the backup quarterback job as a freshman in 2007. 

High school:  Stewart posted the greatest passing season in the long history of District 3-5A as a senior in 2006 when he broke the district's regular-season passing record with 3,136 yards to go along with 21 touchdowns.  He broke the district's single-game passing record in back-to-back weeks with 453 yards against Lubbock Coronado (Sept. 29) and 475 yards against Brownwood (Oct. 6), earning Dave Campbell's Texas Football Player of the Week honors after each game. Stewart capped  his high school career by completing 17 of 27 passes for 335 yards and three touchdowns to earn Gordon Wood Offensive MVP honors to lead the South to a 35-7 win over the North in the eighth annual Fellowship of Christian Athletes Myrle Greathouse Classic at Shotwell Stadium.  As a senior Stewart was the District 3-5A Offensive MVP and the Offensive MVP of both the Abilene Reporter-News' Class 4A 5A team and all-Big Country Super Team.  He was also an honorable mention Class 5A all-state selection by the Associated Press.  Stewart also lettered in baseball, earning first team all-District 3-5A honors as a third baseman in 2007. 

Personal:  His cousin is Amarillo High School boys basketball coach Jason Pillion, a former all-state basketball player at Cooper and all-Lone Star Conference basketball player at West Texas A&M. Born 05 May 1989.  2007 graduate of Cooper High School.
