2013 (Junior): Appeared in nine of 11 games with five starts. Missed contests vs. McMurry and Pittsburg State. Ranked fourth on team and second among linebackers with 60 tackles. Credited with a half sack in season finale at Prairie View A&M. Recorded tackles for loss at Illinois State, Tarleton State and New Mexico State, totaling 2.5 yards. Stephens recovered a fumble vs. New Mexico Highlands.
Made season high 13 tackles and had two quarterback hurries at Illinois State. Registered 12 tackles and intercepted a pass in close loss at New Mexico State. Broke up a pass and made 11 tackles at Incarnate Word. Also credited with a pass break up vs. Tarleton State.
2012 (Sophomore): Appeared in 10 games, started eight and missed road contest vs. Eastern New Mexico. Finished second on team to cornerback LB Suggs with 88 tackles. Credited with two sacks, including one that resulted in a 19-yard loss for Incarnate Word. He was fourth on the Wildcats with 6.5 tackles for loss. Recorded first sack of season in opener vs. McMurry for loss of a yard. Forced a fumble and made a five-yard tackle for loss at West Texas A&M. Made a season high 14 tackles at UIW and had 10 or more through the first four games of the season vs. McMurry (11), Kingsville (10), Tarleton (10) and Angelo State (13). Broke up passes vs. McMurry and West Alabama. Recorded lone interception for no yardage at Texas A&M-Commerce.
2011 (Redshirt freshman): Played in all 11 games for the Wildcats, finishing the season with nine tackles (four solo) and one interception. He had three tackles in ACU’s Oct. 29 win over Texas A&M-Commerce, and his interception came in ACU’s Oct. 8 win over Eastern New Mexico.
2010 (Freshman): Redshirt.
High School: Two-time all-district defensive back and linebacker for coach Greg Price. Played only three games senior season due to injury, recording 33 tackles and 1 interception. Recorded 147 tackles as a junior with 1 interception and recovered 5 fumbles. Was first team all-state linebacker as a junior. Also earned letters four years in baseball, basketball and track and field. He was a state champion centerfielder for baseball squad, earning all-district honors.
Personal: Son of Stan and Sherri Stephens. Father Stan Stephens played quarterback at ACU in 1985-90. 2010 graduate of Argyle Liberty Christian High School. Born 16 December 1991.
