- Father played basketball at Wayland Baptist in Plainview, Texas
- Brother, Daniel, played college basketball at Cal State Fullerton and St. Edwards and played professionally in Mexico, Poland and Macedonia and is now an assistant coach at Loyola University in New Orleans
