Will battle for the starting job in right field after posting solid numbers as a freshman.  2006 (Freshman):  Had the best game of his season in 21-1 win over Texas-Permian Baasin when he went 5 for 6 with four runs scored and an RBI.  Alexander posted a pair of three-RBI games (Feb. 12 vs. Arkansas Tech and April 22 vs. Eastern New Mexico).  Alexander hit .295 on the season and had a team-best 16 stolen bases in 17 attempts.  High school:  Alexander helped the Eagles to a second straight Class 5A playoff berth in 2005 as AHS finished third in the district.  Alexander was a first team all-District 3-5A outfielder as a senior, hitting .383 during the season.  He also started at wide receiver on the Abilene High football team, earning all-district honors as AHS won its first outright district title in 47 years in 2004.  Alexander helped the Eagles finish 12-1, losing only to eventual Class 5A state champion and USA Today mythical national champion, Southlake Carroll, 35-30.
