Abilene Christian's football team will celebrate Saturday's Salute to Service-themed game with a new helmet decal featuring the American flag in the ACU logo.
The change to the Wildcats' logo, from purple to red, white, and blue, is believed to be the first alteration of its kind to don an ACU helmet.
First responders, and active and retired members of the U.S. military will receive one free ticket to Saturday's game against rival Stephen F. Austin. To claim the free ticket,
email ACU director of marketing Tim Patrick with your area of service (Abilene Fire Department, Taylor County Sheriff's Office, branch of military, etc.). Fans can purchase
specially designed American flag ACU apparel online.
The 16th ranked Wildcats face longtime rival and 25th ranked Stephen F. Austin on Saturday night with kickoff at 7 p.m. at Anthony Field at Wildcat Stadium.
The game will also be
streamed on ESPN+.
