ACU Sweeps Redhawks on Their Home Turf

BELLEVUE – ACU closed out their weekend series against Seattle U in convincing fashion Sunday afternoon, taking the finale 6-2 at Bannerwood Park.

The Wildcats, now 27-14 (11-7 WAC), built momentum early with a big four-run fourth inning and never looked back, sealing the series victory behind a balanced offensive attack and strong pitching performances.

Diego Cardenas sparked the offense with a leadoff double in the second inning, later scoring on Reese Borho's RBI double to give ACU the early lead. In the fourth, the Wildcats broke the game open with a string of hits, including RBI contributions from Ranse Radtke and Benjamin Greer, while taking advantage of aggressive baserunning to plate four runs.

Grant Watkins added a late insurance run with a solo home run to right field in the top of the ninth, his first of the season.

On the mound, Cade McGarrh delivered a solid start, allowing just one run over five innings while striking out six. Chandler Benson and Henry Cone combined to finish the final four innings, limiting Seattle U  to just one additional run.

ACU collected 11 hits on the day, with Cardenas, Borho, and Sam Hardcastle each recording multi-hit games. The Wildcats were also aggressive on the basepaths, swiping three bases and keeping constant pressure on the Redhawks' defense.

The Wildcats have one more matchup before their back in Bullock Brothers Ballpark. ACu will travel to Dallas Baptist, seeing them a second time this season, but first on their turf. The first pitch in Dallas will be on Tuesday at 6:05 p.m. CT.
