ABILENE - Abilene Christian women's basketball flexed its muscles on both sides of the ball in a 112-54 drubbing of Nelson to close out 2025 at Moody Coliseum on Monday afternoon. The Wildcats finished off an undefeated 7-0 nonconference slate at home, their first since the 2022-23 campaign.
ACU now shifts its focus to Western Athletic Conference play, beginning with a two-game road swing in Utah. The Wildcats will take on Utah Tech in St. George, Utah at 3 p.m. (CT) Thursday before meeting Utah Valley in Orem, Utah at 3 p.m. (CT) Saturday.
The Wildcats, winners of five of their last six, improved to 12-1 in games in the month of December across the 2025-26 and 2024-25 seasons. They matched their 112-60 win over McMurry on Dec. 2 for their most points scored in a game in the Division I era and most since Jan. 5, 2009.
It's the first time ACU has scored 100 points in three games in a season since 2019-20. The Wildcats connected on 48 of 86 field goal attempts at .558, marking their most field goals in a game in the DI record books and most since 2008-09. They hit a third of their shots from beyond the arc at 9 of 27. ACU dished out 29 assists, its most since March 9, 2019 and tied for the second-most as a DI program.
ACU forced 38 Nelson turnovers, tied for the second-most in the DI era, and turned them into 64 points. The Wildcats came away with 28 steals, their most in the program's DI history, dating back to 2013-14.
Payton Hull led the way on offense with 23 points on 10-of-15 shooting with a career-high eight assists and seven steals in just 23 minutes.
Erin Woodson scored a season-high 21 points on a career-best nine field goals. She brought down seven rebounds, including five on the offensive glass, with three steals.
Meredith Mayes continued her reign as one of the nation's most efficient shooters with 12 points at a 6-of-8 clip. She also grabbed a career-high seven steals with six boards.
Jazmyn Stone was the final Wildcat in double digits with 10 points, her most in an ACU uniform, while tying her career best with six assists.
The Wildcats shot most efficiently in the opening quarter, knocking down 11 of 17 shots with a 2-of-6 mark from long distance. Woodson recorded seven points to pace ACU, while Hull and
Breanna Davis scored five points apiece and totaled five assists. Mayes showcased her versatility with four points, four rebounds, three steals and a block. The Wildcats forced seven turnovers with six steals and converted them into 13 points.
ACU tallied 31 points and held the Lady Lions to just 11 in the second quarter. The Wildcats hit 13 of 23 field goal tries while forcing 11 Nelson turnovers. Hull scored seven points with two steals and two assists as

Natalia Chavez registered six points each. Stone directed the offense with four assists as ACU took a 56-27 lead into halftime.
The Wildcats kept their feet on the gas in the third quarter with a 12-of-22 clip from the field. They forced 10 turnovers and moved ahead by 38 at 80-42 at the end of the period. Hull and Mayes made up half of ACU's scoring with six points apiece. Hull came away with three steals in 1:27 of game time, turning them into points on each instance.
ACU was at its most productive on offense in the fourth quarter, rattling off 32 points with 10 different players contributing. The Wildcats closed the game on a 9-0 run to stretch their advantage to as high as 58 points. Woodson and
Riley Grohman scored six points apiece, while Hull recorded five points with a pair of steals. ACU forced 10 Lady Lion turnovers.
