Edmiston, Koss named Jersey Mike’s A Sub Above WAC Player, Setter of the Week

ARLINGTON, Texas - Abilene Christian volleyball's Ashli Edmiston and Rachel Koss were named the Jersey Mike's A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference Player of the Week and Setter of the Week, respectively, the conference announced on Tuesday. The pair delivered strong performances in ACU's 3-1 win over UT Arlington on Oct. 4.

Edmiston, a senior outside hitter and defensive specialist, earned the weekly honor for the first time in her career, while Koss, a junior setter, was recognized for the second time in the past three weeks. Each helped the Wildcats earn their first WAC victory and true road win of the season.

Edmiston powered ACU with a career-high 23.5 points, logging 19 kills at a .359 clip, three service aces and three blocks. It marked her most kills since 2023 and one short of matching her career best. Edmiston's aces and blocks each tied her career highs, while her points were the sixth-most in a four-set match in the Wildcats' Division I era.

Edmiston contributed a third of ACU's nine aces in the match, which tied for the fourth-most in a four-set match in the program's DI history. She added six digs.

Edmiston has turned it up a notch in conference play, ranking second in the WAC with 3.73 kills and 4.18 points per set. Her .322 hitting percentage is fifth-highest. Edmiston had recorded double-digit kills in four of her last six matches, including a 14-kill effort at California Baptist at a .407 mark on Sept. 27.

Edmiston boasts the ninth-most kills in ACU DI history with 683 at 2.37 kills per set.

Koss totaled 34 assists in ACU's 55-kill outing at UT Arlington, with the team hitting at a .271 percentage. She added four digs and a kill of her own. Koss leads the WAC with 8.87 assists per set and is tied for fourth in conference action with 0.45 aces per set. She is 11th in the nation with 594 total assists.

Koss ranks fifth in the Wildcats' DI record book with 951 career assists with a mark of 6.18 assists per set.

ACU returns to Moody Coliseum at 6 p.m. Thursday versus Southern Utah for its WAC home opener. The Wildcats will be staging Volley for a Cause, a night that allows both ACU volleyball and the Abilene community to show their support for a specific initiative or charity meaningful to them.
