ACU Runs Out of Steam vs. California Baptist

ABILENE - The ACU men's basketball team led California Baptist for 29 minutes on Saturday night, but could not hold up down the stretch as the Lancers rallied to win 60-54 at Moody Coliseum.

The Wildcats held CBU to 36% shooting in the first half and used a 9-0 run to take a 14-5 lead.

Quion Williams and Braydin Hubbard each hit a 3-pointer and a lay-up in the opening minutes.

However, ACU's offense dried up in the second half with 14 consecutive missed field goals. Cade Hornecker converted an and-1 with 15:44 left. It took 10:09 of game time before Dontrez Williams' 3-pointer ended the scoring drought.

That long ball by Dontrez Williams tied the game at 44. The Wildcats and Lancers were knotted up at 48-48, 50-50 and 52-all before CBU scored six in-a-row.
