UTSA took control of the match and never looked back, winning in straight sets 18-25, 16-25 and 17-25.
The Roadrunners from the American Athletic Conference dominated almost every statistical category in the match. UTSA had 44 kills to ACU's 30, 53 digs to ACU's 36, six blocks to ACU's three, and eight aces to ACU's two. UTSA finished the match hitting .316 percent while ACU finished hitting .162 percent.

Edmiston finished with three digs, one kill and one assist, Payne had six assists and one kill, and Thaler had four kills and one block.
"It was a tough match for us versus a strong UTSA," head coach Ijeoma Moronu Alstrup said. The silver lining comes from Ashli Edmiston who had her first kill since her knee injury last season. She played some really nice defense and was consistent for us across the back row. Freshman Sydney Payne also stepped in and did well running a 6-2 alongside Madeline Guffy."
The Wildcats hope to earn their first win of the UTSA Invitational on Saturday at 11 a.m. CT in the program's first-ever match against Holy Cross.
"We're glad to have one more opportunity this weekend to compete well and play some ACU volleyball," Moronu Alstrup said.
