ABILENE – Seattle scored four times in the top of the seventh to end what had been a great defensive duel with a 5-1 win over Abilene Christian on Saturday.
Bubba Rote allowed a first-inning run but shut out the Redhawks over the next four innings and didn't figure in the decision.
The Wildcats tied the game in the bottom of the sixth inning when
Kaydee Bennett tripled to right field and scored on an errant throw on the play.
ACU was held to four hits: two by Bennett and one each by
Olivia Marble and
Sammie Shelander.
Riley White took the loss in relief.
ACU hits the road on Tuesday for a 4 p.m. doubleheader at Tarleton State before returning home next weekend for a three-game series against Utah Valley.
