ABILENE – Marist rallied for three runs in the sixth and got the game-winning run in the seventh in a 4-3 win over Abilene Christian on Saturday.
The Wildcats took a 2-0 lead in the first inning on a two-run single by
Riley White and
Kaydee Bennett singled in
Miranda Lista in the second for a 3-0 advantage.
The lead stood until Marist got some timely hitting in the seventh and a run-scoring wild pitch in the seventh.
White took the loss in relief.
The Wildcats collected six hits in the game, led by White and Bennett with two each.
Sammie Shelander and White also had hits.
ACU's tournament concludes Sunday with three games. Marist plays New Mexico at 9:30 a.m., ACU plays the Lobos at 12:30 p.m. and the Cats finish the weekend with a 3 p.m. contest with Houston Christian.
