ACU Hosts UVU on Saturday

ABILENE
– Abilene Christian takes on Utah Valley at 1 p.m. on Saturday with eyes on moving to 2-0 in the Western Athletic Conference.
 
The Wildcats are 1-0 in the league after a sweep of Seattle University on Thursday. Utah Valley comes in after a 3-1 loss at Tarleton State.
 
ACU hasn't opened league play with consecutive wins since 2019.
 

ACU Storylines
 
LAST MEETING: In last season's 3-1 loss against Utah Valley, Braden Bossier had 14 kills and shared the blocks lead with Breanna Box with four. Bryley Steinhilber added 13 kills.
 
ACU ACE: Madeline Guffy leads the Western Athletic Conference with 0.63 aces per set. She has 17 aces this season, which ties her for the team lead with Abby Christian. Sara Carrizales has 16 and Izzy Larson has served up 11.
 
ASSISTANCE: Madeline Guffy averages 8.69 assists this season as the starter and Rachel Koss, in her 19 sets, averages 8.05. Guffy had 52 assists in a four-set win over Houston Christian to start the season – a mark that is the best four-set total in the WAC this season.
 
DIG IT: Sara Carrizales came up with a conference-best 27 digs in a four-set match in ACU's win against Texas Tech. She is second in the WAC with 4.4 digs per set.
 
ROAD CLOSED: Breanna Box and Braden Bossier lead the Wildcats with 0.68 and 0.6 blocks per set.
 
KILLER PACK: ACU is getting a team-best 2.86 kills per set from Ashli Edmiston. Edmiston heads up a group of four Wildcats who average better than two kills per set. Bryley Steinhilber averages 2.51, Braden Bossier 2.31 and Breanna Box 2.09.
