STARKVILLE, MISS. – Abilene Christian rallied for a second-set win but could not sustain the momentum in a 3-1 loss to Lipscomb in Mississippi State's Maroon and White Invite on Friday.
The Bisons won the match, 25-17, 22-25, 25-9, 25-15.
"There were some really good moments during the match and some stretches that we struggled," said ACU Head Coach Ijeoma Moronu Alstrup. "Lipscomb consistently put in tough serves and we weren't able to respond the way we wanted to. We have another opportunity tomorrow before we start conference play to come together as a team and establish how ACU volleyball plays ball."
Bryley Steinhilber led the Wildcats with seven kills and
Madeline Guffy lifted 20 assists.
Sara Carrizales led the team with 14 digs and
Ashli Edmiston got 10.
Braden Bossier was a part of five blocks and
Breanna Box got in on three.
ACU returns to action Saturday, taking on Mississippi State at 5 p.m.
