Baylor Blanks Wildcats

WACO – Abilene Christian got four shots on goal but couldn't find the net in a 7-0 loss at Baylor on Sunday.

Chayse Thorn put two shots on frame and Jazilyn Torrez and Georgia Guenther tested the Bears' keeper once each. Thorn had one other shot on the night.

"Not a result that reflects how well we've been playing and coming together," said ACU Head Coach Stephen Salas. "We were impressed with the energy our subs brought throughout the game. All credit to a strong Baylor side who capitalized on their chances and will be a force to reckon with in the BIg 12. A lot of growth will come from this game and we will respond like we have done before."

Baylor's Ashley Merrill had a hat trick and Tyler Isgrig added two goals.

Lili Ross had seven saves and Julia Herges added another in goal for the Wildcats.

ACU returns to action Thursday with a 6 p.m. contest at home against Prairie View A&M.
